dumpSQL™ FAQ:
What does dumpSQL™ do?
dumpSQL™ allows users to “dump” a single table’s data from a SQL database to a different output format. Currently dumpSQL™ supports “dumping” data from MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQLite, and MS_SQL into CSV, JSON, XML, and Microsoft® Excel® XLS formats.
Is dumpSQL™ secure?
Yes, you must have the administrator user-name and password to the database to be able to “dump” data from the database table. Thus, no one who does not have the appropriate rights and permissions can use dumpSQL™.
Do I have to type in the database server address each time?
No. Just right mouse click in the server address box and a set of remembered options will be presented. Click the desired item and it will be put into the address box automatically. dumpSQL™ remembers up to 25 servers and anytime one is not found it is added as the first choice. The last choice would then be dropped from the list.
What are the steps needed to move dump a table's data?
Three simple steps…
- Pick your source database and table
- Pick you destination “dump” file format
- Click the Dump button!
That is it, dumpSQL™ is a simple intuitive data management tool that gets the job done!
Is there a way to move SQL table data from one SQL database to another?
dumpSQL™ only “dumps” SQL data from one table into another file based format. However, we do have the SQL utility moveSQL™ that has that functionality. It is sold separately and is available on the dBase.com website.
